Carla Coultas grew up enjoying the Kentucky outdoors. As a teenager she moved to Florida where she started  designing women's clothing. Her inspiration and dedication opened new doors for her and brought the opportunity to start selling her styles in Gainesville, Florida.

Since then Carla Coultas have been part of Gainesville Fashion Week and University of Florida's Pride Awareness Month fashion show drawing crowds of 800 in attendance. 

Annually she puts on her Fashion for Freedom charity runway show raising money and awareness to help bring Women and Children of sexual slavery.

Carla begin modeling as a teenager for her mother who sold vintage clothing. As a young adult she did small photo shoots with friends just for fun. Designing her own clothing gave her  windows into the modeling and photography world.

My name is Natasha Peitersen, I'm a 16 year old junior in high school, and I'm from Tampa, Florida. I was scouted at the age of 14 by Fox Models and participated in their showcase. Ever since then, my passion for modeling ignited. Modeling is a form of art; it allows me to express different emotions and movements through the capture of a camera and on the runway. It makes me feel unique because I'm able to tell a story through the different expressions and poses I project towards the photographer and viewers. Modeling is something I want to pursue in life and hopefully I'm able to turn this into a successful career.

At the age of 15,  I participated in the Florida Quince Guide Fashion Show (my first fashion show). I remember shaking terribly because of the nerves I felt as the hours for preparation of the show passed. A lady came up to me and told me to relax and that everything was going to turn out beautifully. That lady just so happened to be Gwen Nanna, the owner of Tampa Modeling Institute, the instructor that taught me everything I know about modeling, and if it weren't for her and for this show, I wouldn't be where I am today.

Currently, I am with Alexa Models, I've participated in many fashion shows, casual bookings, photo-shoots, and have even been published in magazines like Ellements magazine and the Florida Quince Guide magazine. I've been able to work with incredible photographers such as Chalo Garcia, and Chuck Kovach. My goals and aspirations include signing full time with a major agency in New York, traveling around the world and participating in fashion shows and photo-shoots and being published in popular magazines such as vogue.

Please describe your personality?

At first I'm shy when I meet new people but I as I get to know them I become more bubbly and outgoing. 

What are you passionate about?

I'm passionate about modeling. I love participating in fashions shows and not only gaining more experience but also getting the chance to meet new people. Photo shoots are so fun because of the story people can interpret from me and the poses and body movements I perform. 

Please tell us some of your Hobbies?

Some of my hobbies include singing and dancing. I like to go running around my neighborhood and listen to music. I love spending quality time with my close friends and family, and watching a thriller movie.

What makes you enjoy life the most? 

What makes me enjoy life the most is being a positive person. Looking on the bright side of things makes me more content and making the most out of adventures and experiences that come my way. 

What else you do besides modeling?

I go to school and study a lot, I go running, I love to go shopping with my mom and enjoy a hot chocolate with my dad at Starbucks. My sister and I love watching movies together and walking around the mall. 

Tell us one thing about yourself people might find surprising.

I'm a Viking! I have Danish blood in me. My dad's side of the family originated in Denmark and we all love black licorice. 

Top Destinations in the world you want to visit?

I want to take a big trip to Europe and visit England, France, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, and Greece.

Modeling Career

Why did you start Modeling?

I started modeling because it always interested in me. I fell in love with it during my first photo shoot at Miami beach with an incredible photographer. 

How has modeling shaped your personality?

Modeling has made me more confident in myself. When I'm on the runway I project security and self assurance. Modeling has also taught me to have a tough heart and to never give up on my goals no matter how many times I get rejected.

What are your goals for your modeling? What's next for you?

My goals are to continue expanding my modeling portfolio as well as signing with one of the top modeling agencies in the world. I want to participate in New York fashion week and model for Sherri Hill. I have always wanted to be on the shopping bags, modeling for Hollister or Abercrombie, and shoot a makeup commercial for Maybelline New York cosmetics. 

Any recommendations you could give to new face models?

I recommend starting small and working your way up with local fashion shows and photo shoots, so that you have the experience and tools to make it big in the modeling industry. 

Fashion Photography

What is your favorite photography style? Commercial, Fashion, Artistic, Glamour, Portrait, etc

My favorite style of shooting is high fashion and artistic, I love how you can tell a story with a scene and your wardrobe as well as the makeup you have on. 

Which would be the perfect location for a Photoshoot?

The perfect location for a photo shoot would be in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower as the sun sets. 

Which Brand / Designer would you like to Shoot for?

I think it would be so fun to shoot and model in the clothes Kendall and Kylie Jenner design for the store Pacsun. It has an edgy hipster type style to it, and in my opinion, those are the best clothes to have a photo shoot in. 

Do you prefer Studio or Location?

Location seems more realistic and less staged for.

How about you and Fitness?

I used to figure skate, however now I run track and stay fit by running around my neighborhood and doing abdominal exercises at the house. One day I'll go for a run and the next day I'll stay in and tone up my stomach and arms.

Favorite Healthy Food?

My favorite healthy food are avocados. I love to put them in my tacos, sandwiches, or as a side plate.

Inspiration

If you could interview a great person, who would it be and why?

I would love to interview Tyra banks, I love her show "Americas Next Top Model" and she is a huge inspiration to me regarding my modeling career. I incorporate what I learn on the show to the actual runway and photo sessions I participate in.

I would describe my personality as being a kind person, bubbly, very outgoing, social and with a great sense of humor. I am easy to talk to and a good listener. I usually make friends very easily. I would also say that I am a learner and always want to be improving or learning more about things that interest me.

I know this is cliche, but I am seriously passionate about my family and friends. I love sharing great moments with the ones closest to me and create unforgettable memories. When I say that I don't know how to drive, a lot of people find it odd. 

Why did you start Modeling?

Although I was a very shy teenage girl and did not find myself pretty, people would often complement me as being beautiful and constantly ask me if I was a model. Modeling's the perfect opportunity to improve my self esteem and to help me overcome my shyness. 

How has modeling shaped your personality?

It strengthened my self esteem, widened my cultural views, and made me the strong and persistent woman that I am today because I received so many NO's throughout the years that I quickly learned how to improve my weaknesses and deal with negative responses. It helped me improve my styling and beauty skills, and gave me a sensibility to different beauty across cultures.

What are your goals for your modeling? What's next for you?

After working 14 years as a model, I decided it was time to work behind the scenes, finish my degree, and become a fashion business manager. I am still modeling, but it is not my main focus anymore and rather a side job.

What is your favorite photography style? 

The Artistic is my most favorite photography style because it is not solely related to modeling. It en globes nature, culture, people, and human emotions.

A photo shoot under the aurora borealis in Iceland.

I have many goals, but one of them is to go to Bangladesh next month, and competing for my fourth Beauty queen tittle
